ANTHEM SPRINT TRIATHLON

This reverse order sprint triathlon will kick-off your fall season with a bang! The Anthem Sprint Triathlon, hosted in conjunction with Team Anthem Multisport Club, is held in a great location and on a fantastic course. Consisting of a 5km run, a fast 20km bike course and a 400m swim to the finish, The Anthem Sprint Triathlon is a great way to start your fall racing season.

The 38th annual Oktoberfest @ Tempe Town Lake will be held October 1-3. On Saturday morning das Foot Race will add a little more oom-pah-pah to the 2010 event that will include: free admission, free entertainment, beer and wine gardens, kids games, German food, great carnival and plenty of parking. Tempe Town Lake is along the light rail and race participants receive a T-shirt, 22 oz. Oktoberfest mug and beverage coupon. Awards given in different age categories. All proceeds benefit Tempe Sister City - a Tempe non-profit. Dare you to run in your lederhosen!

XTERRA TRAIL RUN SERIES
Estrella Mountain Regional Park

The XTERRA Arizona Trail Race Series kicks off at Estrella Mountain Park on October 3, 2010. Consisting almost entirely of single track, both the 8k and 20k courses will challenge beginner and experienced trail runners. The courses begin at the parks competitive loops and head clockwise following the technical loop until it meets back up with the long loop. The 8k runners head down to the finish at this point, while the 20k runners turn left to run a counter clockwise long loop.

This Sprint & Olympic distance triathlon will be held at Lake Pleasant, one of Arizonas most scenic recreation areas. Stake your claim at the Valley of the Suns only open-water Olympic distance triathlon this fall! Hosted at Lake Pleasants south boat ramp, this fun and challenging course will test all levels of athlete.

Yes, as in “mustache.” We know, it’s awesome. If you can grow your own ’stache, you’re one step ahead of the game. You gotta sport one for the ‘Stache Dash! Can’t grow one? It’s chill. You can glue one on, paint one on, whatever strikes your fancy. While you’re at it, throw on those short shorts, aviators, tubesocks and fluff up that big hair. We don’t require retro attire, but we strongly encourage it. Police uniform - now we’re talkin’. Sweatbands and retro sneaks, you overachiever.

In essence, becoming empowered to enhance their self-sufficiency as a direct result of engaging in our programs and services and therefore, achieving their life goals.

The rule is simple - the most loops in 12 or 24 hours wins!

XTERRA TRAIL RUN SERIES

Race #2 takes place at White Tank Mountain Regional Park. The race features two distances. The introductory 4 mile, which cruises through the lower part of the park, and for those who prefer a course with more pain and punishment, there is the grueling 19k of rocky single track with over 1500 feet of climbing.

The series concludes with Race #3 at McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Set in beautiful Fountain Hills, the race features rolling hills for the 7k. For those seeking to be crowned the series champion and the more endurance oriented runners, the 15 mile course heads out Pemberton and then climbs up towards Dixie Mine. It winds down Coach Whip, reconnects with Pemberton, and then cruises down Tonto Trail for a fast flat finish.
