USA TRIATHLON
The Merrill Ranch Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member, or (2) purchase a one day membership. Memberships can be purchased during online registration.

7:15 a.m. Athletes that anticipate taking over 2 hours to complete triathlon
7:30 a.m. Men’s swim start
7:35 a.m. Duathlon start
8:00 a.m. Relay and Women’s swim start
9:00 a.m. Youth Triathlon start
9:15 a.m. Men’s award ceremony
9:45 a.m. Women’s award ceremony

Registration will remain open until 9:00 a.m. So if you have a child racing you do not have to be there early.

RACE TIMING
This event is timed using equipment by RFID Timing Systems. All participants need to wear a timing chip around their ankle with the Velcro strap provided. The chips are reusable and need to be returned after the event. These chips are the athlete’s responsibility and missing chips will be charged to the athletes.

SWIM START
We will start the swim fastest to slowest. There will be signs around the pool representing your estimated swim time. Please seed yourself accordingly.

AQUABIKE
Final time for aquabike participants will be calculated at BIKE IN. Once you have finished please make your way to the finish line in your own time to collect your medal, grab a drink and return your timing chip.

ADULT COURSE
SWIM (400m)
Each athlete will be started one at a time with a 10 second gap. Each athlete will swim up lane 1, under the lane lines, down lane 2, under than lane lines into lane 3 and repeat the process through all 8 lanes. On exiting the pool go back to the starter at lane 1, you will be given the right of way over those yet to start. Repeat your first leg through the pool then head to transition. Swim will start fastest to slowest. There will be signs around the pool representing your estimated swim time. Please seed yourself accordingly.

BIKE (2 Loops, 6 miles per loop)
There will be a designated lane separating bike traffic from vehicular traffic around the entire course.

RUN
Two loops of the Anthem Community Park

YOUTH COURSE
SWIM
Each athlete will be started one at a time with a 15 second gap. Each athlete will swim up lane 1, under the lane lines, down lane 2, under than lane lines into lane 3 and repeat the process through all 8 lanes.

BIKE
There will be a designated lane separating bike traffic from vehicular traffic around the entire course.
