Welcome to the 23rd Annual Anthem Holiday Classic! This popular sprint triathlon is held in a great location on a fun, fast course. Consisting of a 400m heated pool swim, a fast 20km course and a 5km run to the finish, Holiday Classic is a great way to finish your 2023 season.

USA TRIATHLON
Holiday Classic is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member, or (2) purchase a one day membership.

7:45 a.m. Male athletes (individual triathlon only) that anticipate taking over 2 hours to complete triathlon
7:55 a.m. Duathlon start
8:00 a.m. Men’s triathlon and aquabike swim start (fastest to slowest)
8:45 a.m. Female athletes (individual triathlon only) that anticipate taking over 2 hours to complete triathlon
9:00 a.m. Women’s triathlon, relays and aquabike swim start (fastest to slowest)
9:45 a.m. Men’s and duathlon (individual and relay) award ceremony

SWIM START
We will start the swim fastest to slowest. There will be signs around the pool representing your estimated swim time. Please seed yourself accordingly.
AQUABIKE
Final time for aquabike participants will be calculated at BIKE IN. Once you have finished please make your way to the finish line in your own time to collect your medal, grab a drink and return your timing chip.
COURSE
SWIM (Pool is heated)
Each athlete will be started one at a time with a 15 second gap. Enter the pool feet first. No diving! Up lane 1, under the lane lines, down lane 2, under the lane lines, up lane 3, etc. On completing the 8 lanes in the pool you will have done 200 yds. and will need to return to the swim start for a second loop. As you reenter the pool the starter will give you the right of way over athletes waiting to start.
BIKE – 20km
There will be a designated lane separating bike traffic from vehicular traffic around the entire course.

Three loops
RUN – 5km
The run course utilizes the paved Anthem Trail System and sidewalks.
Starting from transition area cross the bridge into the park and head south o the Anthem Trail System.
South on trail crossing Whitman then Memorial to Gavillan Peak (MCSO Deputies will be at road crossing)
Continue south on Gavillan Peak to turnaround
North on Gavillan Peak to Anthem Way
Anthem Way east to Community Center and Finish line
YOUTH RUN – 1/2 Mile
TIMING
This event will be chip timed by 4 Peaks Racing using triathlon chips. Lost or unreturned chips will be charged to the athlete. Chips should be worn on your left ankle and must be returned at the finish.
DIRECTIONS & PARKING
Take I-17 to Anthem Way (5 miles North of Carefree Highway). Exit east onto Anthem Way. Proceed straight through two sets of lights to Freedom Way. Turn right onto Freedom and into the Anthem Community Center parking lot.

AWARDS
Overall awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers. Age group awards will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers per the following age groups:
