Cactus Man rides again! Wanted for grit, guts and sheer determination, Cactus Man heads north for a new challenge at Lake Pleasant. With Sprint and Olympic distances for individuals and relay teams, this course will test you from start to finish. Whether you’re ready to push your limits or take on something truly unforgettable, this is your chance to truly test yourself.

USA TRIATHLON
Cactus Man is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member, or (2) purchase a one day membership. Memberships can be purchased during online registration.

5:00 a.m. Packet and timing chip pick up
6:30 a.m. Olympic triathlon and aquabike – men, women and relays (white swim caps)
6:35 a.m. Sprint duathlon begins
6:40 a.m. Sprint triathlon and aquabike – men, women and relays (red swim caps)
8:40 a.m. Sprint awards
9:10 a.m. No new bike laps
9:40 a.m. Must have started run
10:15 a.m. Olympic awards
10:25 a.m. Must be on second loop of the run
At 6:30 a.m. the road from the entry station to the boat ramp will be closed to inbound traffic. Vehicles may leave at any time but please be aware cyclists and runners will be on the road.
RACE TIMING
This event will be chip timed by 4 Peaks Racing using triathlon chips. Lost or unreturned chips will be charged to the athlete. Chips should be worn on your left ankle, worn from start to finish and must be returned at the finish line. Please DO NOT cut the provided neoprene strap.
AWARDS
Overall awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in sprint and Olympic. Age group awards will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers per the following age groups:

Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in the following categories:

WETSUIT USE GUIDELINES
USAT rules state that competitors may wear wetsuits if the water temperature is 78 degrees or lower.
USAT rules also state that if the water temperature is between 78.1 – 83.9 degrees, competitors may wear wetsuits but will not be eligible for awards.
If the water temperature is 84 degrees or above, participants may NOT wear wetsuits.
COURSE CUT OFFS
There are three cut offs for Cactus Man.
1) 9:10 a.m. No new bike laps
2) 9:40 a.m. Must have started run
3) 10:25 a.m. Must be on second loop of the run
AQUABIKE
Final time for aquabike participants will be calculated at BIKE IN. Once you have finished please make your way to the finish line in your own time to collect your medal, grab a drink and return your timing chip.
TRANSITION
Swim in/Bike in at east end (end closest to the lake)
Bike out/Run out at west end
The ground in transition is on the rough side. Feel free to leave flip flops at swim exit
No water stations. Athletes to self-support on bike.
Road is restricted to local traffic only.
Out and back toward Carefree Highway.
Please ride very cautiously from the entry station down the hill to the boat ramp.

Sprint = 2 loop. Olympic = 4 loops

1. Castle Hot Springs Rd 3.95 miles from north boat ramp
2. Four lane boat ramp entry station
