Splash & Dash is a unique event with a relaxed atmosphere that is suitable for all levels of athlete. Whether fine tuning for that big race or getting your feet wet at your first multisport event\, Splash & Dash is the place to be! \nLOCATION & COURSE\nSplash & Dash begins and ends at the Special Event Ramp\, on the north side of the lake between Mill and Rural.\nSwim 750m (1 loop) or 1500m (2 loops)\nRun 5km \n \n \n \nCOST\n$40 until August 31st at 11:59 p.m.\n$45 until September 13th at 11:00 a.m.\n$50 Late registration \nUSA TRIATHLON\nSplash & Dash is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT)\, the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member and provide proof of membership at packet pick up\, or (2) purchase a one day membership at packet pick up. All participants must show I.D. at registration. Please note that Splash & Dash is sanctioned as a clinic and results will not count toward USA Triathlon rankings. \nSCHEDULE\n4:30 p.m. Packet pick up and late registration at race site\n6:00 p.m. 1500m Open water swim & 1500m Splash & Dash begins\n6:05 p.m. 750m Open water swim & 750m Splash & Dash begins \nRACELAB CLINIC\nJoin the expert coaches of Racelab at 5:30pm for a dryland clinic including the parts of your freestyle technique most important in open water\, sighting\, the differences between swimming with and without a wetsuit\, and methods to get settled in and relaxed during a race. \nTIMING\nSplash & Dash is timed using equipment by RFID Timing Systems. All participants need to wear a timing chip around their ankle. Results will be available live at the results kiosk on a big screen TV. \nWETSUIT — USE\nSplash & Dash adheres to USA Triathlon guidelines for wetsuit use. Wetsuits may be used when the water temperature does not exceed 78 F. \nCLICK HERE for Tempe Town Lake weather and water temperature \nPARKING\nAll Splash & Dash races are held at the Special Event Ramp\, on the north side of the lake between Mill and Rural. Parking is available at Tempe Town Lake Marina and limited parking is available at Lake View Dr under the 202. \npH POLICY\nIn order for Tempe Town Lake to host a full body contact event the pH of the water must be 9.0 or below\, as required by Maricopa County. An increase in pH is caused by an abundance of algae in the lake typically caused by an increase in the temperature and little to no movement of water through the lake. If the pH does not meet this standard Splash and Dash will be cancelled. Furthermore\, should there be 1/5 of an inch of rain within 24 hours of Splash & Dash the event will be cancelled. DESCRIPTION:Join us Saturday\, September 22\, 2018 in raising money to BRING JONATHAN HOME. Jonathan is a 7 yr. old boy\, soon to be son\, of Don & Marinice Adams of Mesa\, AZ. Right now Jonathan is living in a shelter in Brazil\, waiting for his future Dad and Mom to have the funds to complete his adoption process. The Adams family has always wanted to have children of their own and have never been blessed with this honor.  After discovering that their young cousin\, Jonathan\, was living in a shelter\, Don & Marinice knew they wanted to adopt him. While Jonathan remains in Brazil\, until his opportunity to come home arrives\, his expectant parents keep up his spirit and his hope by face timing and showing him the home he will soon enjoy.\nBRING JONATHAN HOME is a 10k\, 5k  Run Fundraiser to help raise the funds to complete the adoption process\, unfortunately the cost to adopt a family member is even more than the average adoption. Join us for a 1k race to raise money and awareness for the families\, single women and youth experiencing homelessness.\nHelp us make history as we attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people completing a 1k race in flip flops! Grab your family\, friends and flip flops and Walk the Walk to End Homelessness!  \nRACE TIMING\nThis event is timed using equipment by RFID Timing Systems. All participants need to wear a timing chip around their ankle with the Velcro strap provided. The chips are reusable and need to be returned after the event.
