The Merrill Ranch Triathlon will kick start your spring racing season! Whether you are a seasoned racer looking to dust off the holiday cobwebs or a first time triathlete wanting to take the plunge, this is the race for you. Consisting of a 400m pool swim, a fast 12 mile course and a run to the finish, come and kick off your 2022 season with us.

USA TRIATHLON
The Merrill Ranch Triathlon is sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member, or (2) purchase a one day membership.

SATURDAY, March 26
6:00 a.m. Packet and timing chip pick up at Anthem Merrill Ranch Parkside Community Center
7:20 a.m. Athletes that anticipate taking over 2 hours to complete triathlon
7:30 a.m. Men’s swim start
7:35 a.m. Duathlon start
8:00 a.m. Relay swim start
8:05 a.m. Women’s swim start
9:00 a.m. Youth Triathlon start
9:05 a.m. Men’s award ceremony
9:35 a.m. Women’s award ceremony

Registration will remain open until 9:00 a.m. So if you have a child racing you do not have to be there early.

SWIM START
We will start the swim fastest to slowest. There will be signs around the pool representing your estimated swim time. Please seed yourself accordingly.

ADULT COURSE
SWIM (400m)
Each athlete will be started one at a time with a 15 second gap. Each athlete will swim up lane 1, under the lane lines, down lane 2, under than lane lines into lane 3 and repeat the process through all 8 lanes. On exiting the pool go back to the starter at lane 1, you will be given the right of way over those yet to start. Repeat your first leg through the pool then head to transition. Swim will start fastest to slowest. There will be signs around the pool representing your estimated swim time. Please seed yourself accordingly.

BIKE (2 Loops, 6 miles per loop)
HELMET REQUIRED
Exit transition at Anthem Merrill Ranch Community Center
North on N. Anthem Way
West on Merrill Ranch Parkway
South on Felix
Turnaround at Hunt Highway

RUN (2 Loops)

YOUTH COURSE

RACE TIMING
This event is timed using equipment by RFID Timing Systems. All participants need to wear a timing chip around their ankle with the Velcro strap provided. The chips are reusable and need to be returned after the event. These chips are the athlete’s responsibility and missing chips will be charged to the athletes.
