SUMMARY:Scarface Mountain Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:Welcome back to the 2nd Annual Scarface Mountain Trail Run 10k\, 5k (3.35 miles)\, 1 mile fun run\, and for the first time in 2027\, the Scarface Mountain 20k! The race is inside Usery Mountain Regional Park at the Trailhead Staging Area\, on Saturday January 9th\, 2027. We will be donating 100% of the registration fees to charity. 50% will be going to Mesa United Way-Foster360\, and 50% will be going to the Charitable Foundation of the Rotary Club of Mesa. \nCome and experience some Wild West Arizona History. At this location in history\, on January 5th 1892\, on these same desert trails you will be running on\, two men named King Usery and Henry Blevins hid the spoils of their robbery of the Globe-Florence Stage\, sealing the silver bars\, and burying them in King Usery’s Ranch land right here in Usery Mountain Regional Park. Some say there may still be some silver bars out on this land\, never recovered by the sheriff. \nYou will be running near Pass Mountain aka Scarface Mountain (a nicknamed given by locals for the geological cut across the face of the mountain)\, inside Usery Mountain Regional Park\, the namesake of the park is King Usery\, local rancher\, and Stagecoach Robber. A portion of your race will be on Blevins Trail\, the namesake of this trail was King Usery’s partner in crime Henry Blevins. If any runner happens to find and return any lost silver\, they will receive a reward! \nPacket Pickup Friday\nJanuary 8th\nLocation TBD \nRace Website\nhttps://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61578125467399 \n20k Trail Run 8:50am\n$70 Early Registration ($80 after Thanksgiving) \n10k Trail Run: 9:00am\n$55 Early Registration ($65 after Thanksgiving) \n5k (3.35 miles) Trail Run: 9:10am\n$45 Early Registration ($55 after Thanksgiving) \n1-Mile fun Run: 9:15am\n$25 Early Registration ($30 after Thanksgiving) \nTop Male and Female finisher in the 20k\,10k\, 5k (3.35mile) will receive a prize\nTop 3 Male and Female finisher in the 20k\, 10k\, 5k (3.35mile) will receive a trophy\nAll runners will receive a race shirt at packet pickup \nAll finishers will receive a finisher pint glass with race logo\nAll finishers will get a finish line photo\, with option to purchase additional race photos \n2027 will be the first Cowboy Outlaw Runner Costume Contest.
