Parking is available at Tempe Town Lake Marina and limited parking is available at Lake View Dr under the 202. \npH POLICY\nIn order for Tempe Town Lake to host a full body contact event the pH of the water must be 9.0 or below\, as required by Maricopa County. An increase in pH is caused by an abundance of algae in the lake typically caused by an increase in the temperature and little to no movement of water through the lake. If the pH does not meet this standard Splash and Dash will be cancelled. Furthermore\, should there be 1/5 of an inch of rain within 24 hours of Splash & Dash the event will be cancelled. SUMMARY:XTERRA Papago Urban Desert Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:The 26k has a little bit of everything: desert\, water\, nature and even a glimpse of urban life. Take the 10k course and add a jaunt up the historic Crosscut Canal.  Don’t forget to check for the big horn sheep on the buttes as you pass the Phoenix Zoo.  Continue up the canal right behind the gorgeous Desert Botanical Garden\, return to wind your way through the scenic buttes and back to North Linear Park\, and then . . . do it all again! \nRACE TIMING\nThis race will be chip timed using disposable chip technology by RFID Timing. Timing chips are on the reverse side of your race number. In past years there has been crowding in the pool. DESCRIPTION:If you currently have or have had any Covid-19 symptoms DO NOT attend the event. Fever or chills\, cough\, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing\, fatigue\, muscle or body aches\, headache\, new loss of taste or smell\, sore throat\, congestion or runny nose\, nausea or vomiting\, diarrhea. \nFace masks must be worn by all attendees at all times. A disposable mask will be in your race packet and should be worn to the start line. You may remove your mask and place it in the trash can at the start line right before you are directed to enter the water. Face masks will be available at the finish line and should be put on immediately. \nPlease print and sign the Covid Waiver for each person participating in Tri 4 the Cure. Waivers will also be available at packet pick up  \nHere is your Tri 4 the Cure Athlete Guide with everything you need to know about the day and Covid precautions. \nDue to the nature of our race with many cancer survivors participating\, we respectfully request no spectators. We will have many photographers on course\, and at the finish to capture your race day \nThere are no water stations on the run course. There will be signs around the pool representing your estimated swim time. Please seed yourself accordingly. \nCOURSE\nSWIM\nEach athlete will be started one at a time with a 15 second gap. Enter the pool feet first. No diving! Up lane 1\, under the lane lines\, down lane 2\, under the lane lines\, up lane 3\, etc. On completing the 8 lanes in the pool you will have done 200 yds. and will need to return to the swim start for a second loop. Iceman truly has a little something for everyone with triathlon\, aquabike and duathlon options. Yes\, it’s going to be a little chilly on race day\, but we have you covered with your Iceman beanie. \nCLICK HERE for information on qualifying for XTERRA Worlds in Maui on October 31 \nWhat does it all mean?? Iceman will have both a traditional road triathlon and an XTERRA off road triathlon.  \nWe are hopeful to bring this event to Arizona. However\, we are prepared for yet another event cancellation due to the ever-evolving COVID situation. We will offer entry-fee refunds (does not include Active processing fees) if the event is cancelled. The City of Tempe has moved to the red (substantial transmission) in all three categories (cases\, percent positivity and COVID-19 like illness).\nYou have several options for your entry fees\n1. Race numbers must be forward facing and displayed at all times.\n3. Please overtake with care and communicate to the slower rider. Slower riders please yield.\n4. One rider per team on the course at a time.\n5. Rider exchanges must be made in the exchange tent.\n6. Each athlete riding between 5:15 p.m. and the finish must have a front light with two to three hours of battery life.\n7. Each team that starts this race will be given a lap count and time in the results regardless of when they finish. All participants must show I.D. at registration. Parking is available at Tempe Town Lake Marina and limited parking is available at Lake View Dr under the 202. \npH POLICY\nIn order for Tempe Town Lake to host a full body contact event the pH of the water must be 9.0 or below\, as required by Maricopa County. An increase in pH is caused by an abundance of algae in the lake typically caused by an increase in the temperature and little to no movement of water through the lake. If the pH does not meet this standard Splash and Dash will be cancelled. Furthermore\, should there be 1/5 of an inch of rain within 24 hours of Splash & Dash the event will be cancelled. DESCRIPTION:Come and experience the only nude run in AZ! This desert trail 5k will take you around the Shangri La Ranch property; up the hiking trail\, along the dry wash\, and through the majority of the ranch. Racers are encouraged to run with nothing on but tennis shoes\, however nudity is not a requirement.
