DESCRIPTION:Water temperature is 77. If you’d like to wear a wetsuit please feel free to do so. Lake Pleasant water level is lower than usual and the boat ramp and ground in transition are on the rugged side. Please feel free to leave footwear at swim exit. \nIf you\, or anyone in your household\, shows any signs of illness or symptoms of COVID-19\, you should not attend this event. According to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health\, COVID-19 symptoms include:\n• Fever or chills\n• Cough\n• Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing\n• Fatigue\n• Muscle or body aches\n• Headache\n• New loss of taste or smell\n• Sore throat\n• Congestion or runny nose\n• Nausea or vomiting\n• Gastrointestinal Symptoms (Stomach Ache\, Diarrhea\, Nausea or Vomiting) \n \nIt will probably be hot\, and it will definitely be hilly!! The Castle Creek Triathlon offers a sprint and Olympic distance triathlon and aquabike as well as a sprint duathlon for individuals. At that time the road from the entry station to the boat ramp will be closed to inbound traffic. Vehicles may leave at any time but please be aware cyclists and runners will be on the road. \nPARKING\nRemember there is a $7 entry fee per vehicle to enter Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Please have exact change.  \nPACKET PICK UP\nPhoto ID required to pick up race packet\nIf you are a USA Triathlon member please have proof of membership\nYou have to pick up your race packet in person (no one can pick up yours and you cannot pick up for anyone else)\nEach member of a relay team must check in but the whole does not have to pick up their packets together \nCOVID PRECAUTIONS\nPHYSICAL DISTANCING\nWe will be creating a large transition area with less bikes per rack. Please be mindful of of others during the event especially at registration\, race start\, finish line and post race. \nREDUCE FACE TO FACE INTERACTIONS\nPlastic barrier between athletes and volunteers/staff at packet pick up in Anthem\nSelf serve water station on the run. Volunteers will place single serve water bottles on a table\, please help yourself.\nAt the finish line please take off your own timing chip and get a finisher medal off the table \nHAND SANITIZER\nHand sanitizer will be available throughout the race site \nCOURSE CUT OFFS\nThere are three cut offs for The Castle Creek Triathlon.\n1) You must have started the bike by 7:35 a.m.\n2) You must start the run by 9:30 a.m.\n3) You must be on the second loop of the run by 10:15 a.m. \nSITE PLAN\n \nSWIM\n \nSprint = 1 loop. Olympic = 2 loops\nKeep buoys on your left\nOlympic = grey swim cap\nSprint = pink swim cap \nTRANSITION\nSwim in/Bike in at east end (end closest to the lake)\nBike out/Run out at west end\nThe ground in transition is on the rough side. Feel free to leave flip flops at swim exit  \nBIKE\n \nNo water stations. Athletes to self-support on bike\nTraffic is restricted but road not completely closed to traffic. STAY RIGHT!  Share the road. Exercise caution\nPlease ride very cautiously from the entry station down the hill to the boat ramp. This section of road will also have runners\nOut and back toward Carefree Highway\nFollow instructions of staff and/or MCSO\nSprint = 2 loop. Olympic = 4 loops\nTurn around\n1.	Castle Hot Springs Rd 3.1 miles from north boat ramp\n2.	Boat ramp/transition area \nRUN\n \nSprint = 1 loop. Olympic = 2 loops\nFollow instructions of staff and/or MCSO\nWater station at turn around points \nAQUABIKE\nFinal time for aquabike participants will be calculated at BIKE IN. Once you have finished please make your way to the finish line in your own time to collect your medal\, grab a drink and return your timing chip. \nTIMING\nThis event will be chip timed by 4 Peaks Racing using triathlon chips. Lost or unreturned chips will be charged to the athlete. Results will be available live at the results kiosk on a big screen TV.
