All permits are in place for The Iceman Triathlon and\, pending any changes to Arizona’s executive orders\, we will be racing February 27. \n \nWelcome to the Second Iceman Triathlon and XTERRA Iceman!! Iceman truly has a little something for everyone with triathlon\, aquabike and duathlon options. Yes\, it’s going to be a little chilly on race day\, but we have you covered with your Iceman beanie. \nCLICK HERE for information on qualifying for XTERRA Worlds in Maui on October 31 \nWhat does it all mean?? Iceman will have both a traditional road triathlon and an XTERRA off road triathlon.  \nWe are hopeful to bring this event to Arizona. However\, we are prepared for yet another event cancellation due to the ever-evolving COVID situation. We will offer entry-fee refunds (does not include Active processing fees) if the event is cancelled. Please note\, in an effort to reduce face to face contact and limit the number of volunteers present that there will be no finisher medals or awards for Iceman 2021.  \nIMPORTANT SAFETY DETAILS\n1. In an effort to reduce the number of people onsite please refrain from bringing spectators. Spectators must wear a mask at all times\n2. Face masks must be worn by all attendees at all times. A disposable mask will be in your race packet and should be worn to the start line. You may remove your mask and place it in the trash can at the start line right before you are directed to enter the water. Face masks will be available at the finish line and should be put on immediately.\n3. Please adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times\n4. Hand sanitizer stations throughout venue\n5. At that time the road from the entry station to the boat ramp will be closed to inbound traffic. Vehicles may leave at any time but please be aware cyclists and runners will be on the road.\n7:00 a.m. Packet and timing chip pick up at Lake Pleasant 4 lane boat ramp\n8:30 a.m. Registration closes\n8:45 a.m. Duathlons begins\n9:00 a.m. XTERRA Iceman Triathlon and Aquabike begins (athletes to start one at a time)\n9:15 a.m. Iceman Road Triathlon and Aquabike begins (athletes to start one at a time) \nPARKING\nRemember there is a $7 entry fee per vehicle to enter Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Please have exact change.   \nSITE PLAN\n \nCOURSES\nSWIM\n \nWater temp for 2020 event was 62. Per USA Triathlon wetsuits\, neoprene caps and neoprene boots are allowed. USA Triathlon has granted us a rules amendment to allow neoprene gloves\, provided they are not webbed. \nTRANSITION\nSwim in/Bike in at east end (end closest to the lake)\nBike out/Run out at west end\nRack bike according to race number. Five bikes per rack\nThe ground in transition is on the rough side. Feel free to leave flip flops at swim exit  \nROAD BIKE\n \nTwo loop out and back toward Carefree Highway\nNo water stations. Athletes to self-support on bike\nRoad not closed to traffic. STAY RIGHT!  Share the road. Exercise caution\nPlease ride very cautiously from the entry station down the hill to the boat ramp. This section of road will also have runners\nFollow BIKE signs (yellow sign with black lettering) and follow instructions of staff and/or MCSO\nTurn around\n1.	Castle Hot Springs Rd 3.1 miles from north boat ramp\n2.	Boat ramp/transition area \nXTERRA BIKE\n \nDrop handle bars are not allowed. You may use a gravel bike but it will need straight (mt bike style) handlebars.  \nOne loop out and back up Castle Hot Springs Rd\nNo water stations. Athletes to self-support on bike\nRoad not closed to traffic. STAY RIGHT!  Share the road. Exercise caution\nPlease ride very cautiously from the entry station down the hill to the boat ramp. This section of road will also have runners\nFollow XTERRA BIKE signs (white sign with yellow lettering) and follow instructions of staff and/or MCSO\nTurn around\n1.
