If this affects your travel please allow plenty of extra time for your drive to Lake Pleasant \n \nWelcome to the Inaugural Iceman Triathlon and XTERRA Iceman!! Iceman truly has a little something for everyone with triathlon\, aquabike and duathlon options. Yes\, it’s going to be a little chilly on race day\, but we have you covered with your Iceman event hoodie and Arizona’s only transition with heaters. \nWhat does it all mean?? Iceman will have both a traditional on road triathlon and an XTERRA. XTERRA races will be held off road. The bike course is out and back on a gravel road\, while the run course is an adventure on the trails adjacent to the 4-lane boat ramp.  \nXTERRA American Tour Rules \nDISTANCES\nXTERRA Iceman\, Iceman Triathlon & Relays\nSwim 750m\nBike 20km\nRun 5km  \nXTERRA Iceman & Iceman Duathlon\nRun 5km\nBike 20km\nRun 5km \nXTERRA Iceman & Iceman Aquabike\nSwim 750m\nBike 20km \nPlease note\, new XTERRA Run Course is 5.5km \nPACKET PICK UP\nPhoto ID required to pick up race packet\nIf you are a USA Triathlon member please have proof of membership\nYou have to pick up your race packet in person (no one can pick up yours and you cannot pick up for anyone else)\nEach member of a relay team must check in but the whole does not have to pick up their packets together \nSCHEDULE\nFRIDAY\, FEBRUARY 28\n3pm to 6pm\nMoxie Multisport\n2952 N Hayden Rd\nScottsdale AZ 85251\nTiming chips will not be available until race morning \nSATURDAY\, FEBRUARY 29\n7:30 a.m. Packet and timing chip pick up at Lake Pleasant 4 lane boat ramp\n8:30 a.m. Registration closes\n8:35 a.m. Athlete meeting\n8:40 a.m. Road between 4 lane boat ramp and entry station closes\n8:45 a.m. Duathlons begins\n9:00 a.m. XTERRA Iceman Triathlon and Aquabike begins (white caps)\n9:03 a.m. Iceman Triathlon and Aquabike begins (pink caps)\n9:35 a.m. Must have exited transition to bike course\n11:00 a.m. Awards \nCOURSE CUT OFFS\nThere is only one cut off for Iceman. You must start the bike by 9:35 a.m. \nPARKING\nParking is limited and carpooling will make the morning flow a little smoother for all. Remember there is a $7 entry fee per vehicle to enter Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Please have exact change.  Beginning at 8:40 a.m. the road between Lake Pleasant and the north entry station will be closed to all traffic. Vehicles will not be able to leave the parking area until the last bike is off the course.\n \nSITE PLAN\n \nPlease note that cars cannot leave until all bikes are off the course \nCOURSES\nSWIM\n \nWater temp is 62 F. Per USA Triathlon wetsuits\, neoprene caps and neoprene boots are allowed. USA Triathlon has granted us a rules amendment to allow neoprene gloves\, provided they are not webbed. \nROAD BIKE\n\nTwo loop bike course on Castle Hot Springs Rd\nLoop for second lap in vicinity of 4 lane entry station \nXTERRA BIKE\n \nYavapai County asked us to change the XTERRA bike course. Instead of making a right on Cow Creek you will stay straight on Castle Hot Springs \nPer XTERRA drop handle bars are not allowed. You may use a gravel bike but it will need straight (mt bike style) handlebars. You may compete with drop handlebars but you will not be eligible for awards. \nXTERRA athletes will receive a Hoorag in their race packet. Once you have finished please make your way to the finish line in your own time to collect your medal\, grab a drink and return your timing chip. \nTIMING\nThis event will be chip timed by 4 Peaks Racing using triathlon chips. Lost or unreturned chips will be charged to the athlete. Results will be available live at the results kiosk on a big screen TV.
