DESCRIPTION:As you are probably aware\, it rained quite a bit in Tempe today. Tempe has received more than .2 inches of rain. When this happens\, the lake must be retested before allowing anyone in the water. Unfortunately\, the testing takes 24 hours to complete after a rain. \nThis means that we are unable to swim in Tempe Town Lake tomorrow. The XTERRA Rockhopper Triathlon with proceed as a duathlon. The bike course will remain the same while the two-loop run will be split into two one loop runs bookending the bike. \nWhile we know that you are disappointed that the swim will not be part of the race\, 4 Peaks Racing will do our best to make lemonade out of this situation. This 1000m swim\, 13 mile bike and 3.5 mile trail run will offer a challenge to all levels of triathlete. Athletes that participate in this event will have opportunity to earn points towards the 2019 XTERRA National Championship. The XTERRA Rockhopper Triathlon with proceed as a duathlon. \nSplash & Dash participants may transfer to another Splash & Dash\, use entry fee as a credit to another 4 Peaks Racing event or request a refund. Mill Ave\n   Tempe AZ 85281 \npH POLICY\nIn order for Tempe Town Lake to host a full body contact event the pH of the water must be 9.0 or below\, as required by Maricopa County. An increase in pH is caused by an abundance of algae in the lake typically caused by an increase in the temperature and little to no movement of water through the lake. If the pH does not meet this standard Splash and Dash will be cancelled. Furthermore\, should there be 1/5 of an inch of rain within 24 hours of Splash & Dash the event will be cancelled.
