INTRODUCTION
The Annual Salsa Challenge is a day-long festival featuring the #1 condiment in the U.S. SALSA! Amateurs and professionals will compete for the judges vote while attendees enjoy all the chips and salsa they can eat! Too Hot To Trot will kick off the 2013 Salsa Challenge with participants enjoying a 5km loop of Tempe Town Lake followed by Free Early Admission to the Salsa Challenge with breakfast, music and your choice of beer or margarita in the Runners VIP Area! Proceeds to benefit The Arizona Hemophilia Association.

COURSE
Beginning at Tempe Beach Park this 5km route circles Tempe Town Lake crossing the lake at Rural and the footbridge over the west dam. See below for route map.

If you are of legal age to enjoy the free margarita or beer after the race, you will be required to present proper proof of age at the park that morning. Once you have done that, you will be given a wristband indicating you are of legal drinking age for the State of Arizona. If you are not wearing this wristband, you will not be able to participate in the free margarita or beer. -
ACCESS TO TEMPE BEACH PARK
On the day of the race, all runners, and paid admission spectators, will be required to enter the park through the Hardy gate, located on the Northwest side of the park. There will be no gear drop off available.

SPECTATORS
Friends and family of runners are welcome and encouraged to join in watching the race. There will be areas near the waterfront, outside the gated park, where spectators can watch. If spectators plan on joining their racers in the park, they can gain early access, with a paid admission to the Salsa Challenge.

6:30 a.m. Packet pick up and race day registration opens (registration tents will be located in Tempe Beach Park under the Mill Ave bridge)
7:50 a.m. Pre-race briefing

TIMING
This race will be chip timed using disposable chip technology by RFID Timing. Timing chips are on the reverse side of your race number. Race numbers should be worn the correct way up, pinned to the front of your shirt and worn over your belly button.
