INTRODUCTION
This reverse order sprint triathlon will kick-off your fall season with a bang! The Anthem Sprint Triathlon, hosted in conjunction with Team Anthem Multisport Club, is held in a great location and on a fantastic course. Consisting of a 5km run, a fast 20km bike course and a 400m swim to the finish, The Anthem Sprint Triathlon is a great way to start your fall racing season. -

COURSE
RUN - 5km
The run course utilizes the paved Anthem Trail System and sidewalks.
Starting from the west side of the bridge connecting the park and the community center head south on the Anthem Trail System.
South on trail crossing Whitman then Memorial to Gavillan Peak (MCSO Deputies will be at road crossing)
Continue south on Gavillan Peak to turnaround
North on Gavillan Peak to Anthem Way
Anthem Way east to Community Center and transition
BIKE - 20km (three loops)
There will be a designated lane separating bike traffic from vehicular traffic around the entire course.
Exit the Community Center on Freedom Way
North on Freedom Way to Anthem Way
East on Anthem Way to Daisy Mountain
South on Daisy Mountain to Dedication
North on Dedication to Memorial
West on Memorial to Freedom
North on Freedom to lap or transition
SWIM (2 cycles)
Enter the pool feet first. No diving! Up lane 1, under the lane lines, down lane 2, under the lane lines, up lane 3, etc… On completing the 8 lanes in the pool you will have done 200 yds and will need to return to the swim start for a second loop. In past years there has been crowding in the pool. This system will allow for overtaking and have one way swim traffic in each lane. -
TIMING
This event will be chip timed by CEP Timing. Please make sure your timing chip is returned after the race. These chips are very expensive and they are the athlete's responsibility, missing chips will be charged to the athletes. -
SCHEDULE
FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 3
5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Packet pick up at Tribe Multisport. Must have pre-registered by 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2 for your packet to be available at Tribe.
SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 4
5:00 a.m. Packet pick up and late registration at The Anthem Community Center. Transition area open and body marking available.
6:45 a.m. Transition area closes
7:00 a.m. Men start
7:15 a.m. Women and Relays start
9:30 a.m. Awards -
DIRECTIONS
Take I-17 North to Anthem Way (5 miles North of Carefree Highway). Exit right onto Anthem Way . Continue straight through the traffic lights at Gavillan Peak Parkway. Take a right at Freedom Way. Parking will be available at the Anthem Community Center (41130 N. Freedom Way, Anthem AZ 85086). -
AWARDS
Overall awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers. Age group awards will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers per the following age groups:
Under 10
10-14
15-19
20-24
25-29
30-34
35-39
40-44
45-49
50-54
55-59
60-64
65-69
70+
Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in the following categories:
Clydesdales (Men 200 +lbs)
Athenas (Women 150+ lbs)

USAT
We are proud to be sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member and provide proof of membership at packet pick up, or (2) purchase a one day membership for $10. REFUNDS
A refund of half the entry fee paid, less any fees charged by Active for online entry, will be given if requested 30 days before race day. After that there are no refunds or transfers for any reason. This includes weather, injury or the necessity to change distances or the course due to unforeseen and/or unanticipated circumstances.
