INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the 11th Annual Anthem Holiday Classic! This popular sprint triathlon is the final event on the Arizona multisport calendar. Holiday Classic is held in a great location on a fun, fast course. Consisting of a 400m pool swim, a fast 20km course and a 5km run to the finish, Holiday Classic is a great way to finish your 2012 season.

COURSE
SWIM (Pool is heated)
Each athlete will be started one at a time with a 15 second gap. You will be asked for your estimated 400m swim time and arranged in descending order 15 minutes before the race begins. Enter the pool feet first. No diving! Up lane 1, under the lane lines, down lane 2, under the lane lines, up lane 3, etc… On completing the 8 lanes in the pool you will have done 200 yds and will need to return to the swim start for a second loop. As you reenter the pool the starter will give you the right of way over athletes waiting to start.
BIKE - 20km
There will be a designated lane separating bike traffic from vehicular traffic around the entire course.

South on Daisy Mountain to Dedication
North on Dedication to Memorial
West on Memorial to Freedom

Three loops
RUN - 5km
The run course utilizes the paved Anthem Trail System and sidewalks.
Starting from transition area cross the bridge into the park and head south o the Anthem Trail System.
South on trail crossing Whitman then Memorial to Gavillan Peak (MCSO Deputies will be at road crossing)
Continue south on Gavillan Peak to turnaround
North on Gavillan Peak to Anthem Way
Anthem Way east to Community Center and Finish line -
START
Athletes will be arranged to start the race by swim time. During the registration process please indicate your estimated 400m swim time. -
TIMING
This event will be chip timed by CEP Timing. Chips will be available to pick up at 7:00 a.m. race morning. Please make sure your timing chip is returned after the race. These chips are the athlete's responsibility and missing chips will be charged to the athletes. -

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8
7:00 a.m. Packet and timing chip pick up at The Anthem Community Center, body marking. Registration will stay open unitl 1:00 p.m. So women, relays and kids feel free to come later in the morning. For those coming in later please consider parking in the Anthem Community Park and walking across the footbridge to the community center.

DIRECTIONS & PARKING
Take I-17 to Anthem Way (5 miles North of Carefree Highway). Exit east onto Anthem Way. Proceed straight through two sets of lights to Freedom Way. Turn right onto Freedom and into the Community Center parking lot. Parking is also available at:
The Anthem Community Park (access from Gavillan Peak Parkway between Anthem Way & Whitman and walk across the bridge to the community center)
Surface street parking on Whitman between Gavillan Peak Parkway and Freedom Way
Safeway parking area (SW corner of Anthem Way & Gavillan Peak Parkway) -
AWARDS
Overall awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers. Age group awards will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers per the following age groups:

15-19
20-24
25-29
30-34
35-39
40-44
45-49
50-54
55-59
60-64
65-69
70+
Awards will also be given to the top three finishers in the following categories:
Clydesdales (Men 200 +lbs)
Athenas (Women 150+ lbs)
Relay -
REFUNDS
A refund of half the entry fee paid, less any fees charged by Active for online entry, will be given if requested 30 days before race day. After that there are no refunds or transfers for any reason. This includes weather, injury or the necessity to change distances or the course due to unforeseen and/or unanticipated circumstances.
