GAGE SAFER STREETS FOUNDATION
4 Peaks Racing is proud to partner with The Gage Safer Streets Foundation for the Splash & Dash Series. A portion of the proceeds from each Splash & Dash will be donated to The Gage Safer Streets Foundation. In 2010 their goal is to unite the various Arizona cycling advocacy groups and work together to promote a more positive image of cyclists. Although cyclists legally and technically have all the rights and responsibilities of other road users, most motorists see cyclists as nuisances and even believe that we do not belong on the roads. The first step is to win over the hearts and minds of the general public to the many benefits of cycling. Long term goal is to get Public Service Announcements on television, radio and print, promoting cycling and encouraging motorists to be courteous to those who share the roads. -
USAT
We are proud to be sanctioned by USA Triathlon (USAT), the governing body of multisport in North America. One of the many roles played by USAT is that of insurance provider for this race. As such USAT requires that every participant be either (1) an annual member and provide proof of membership at packet pick up, or (2) purchase a one day membership for $10. Please visit www.usatriathlon.org for more information. -
pH POLICY
In order for Tempe Town Lake to host a full body contact event the pH of the water must be 9.0 or below, as required by Maricopa County. An increase in pH is caused by an abundance of algae in the lake typically caused by an increase in the temperature and little to no movement of water through the lake. If the pH does not meet this standard Splash and Dash will be cancelled. Notification will be made the Monday before each scheduled event. All registrations will be either refunded or transferred to a future Splash and Dash at the discretion of the individuals involved.
